How I Manifested a Job Offer to be a Professor in Two Weeks

By March 9, 2017 No Comments
{A manifesting maven story to help you build confidence in yourself and your abilities.}
I missed the call and listened to the voice message almost immediately.
His friendly voice came on and started with, “Hi Professor.”
I smiled to myself and thought back to when I became a “Professor.”
One night in October of 2015, I had a ridiculously strong feeling that I needed to start teaching. Specifically, teaching at a college or university.
I felt into it and wanted to teach leadership (since that’s one topic I feel confident in delivering exceptional tools for). I knew nothing about the credentials I needed to teach but I knew it was going to happen, pretty immediately.
My intuition told me to call a specific friend, so I did and shared with her that I wanted to start teaching.
She said, “Great. I know several people at different colleges. Let me put you in touch.”
Over the coming week, I met with a professor she put me in touch with at South Mountain Community College. The original meeting was meant to be 20 minutes long and turned into 2 hours. She gave me a tour of the campus and took me by the entrepreneurship building.

It was a shiny new building and they were just launching a brand new program. The head of the program had just returned the day before from meetings going over criteria for hiring teachers into the program.
I met him, we briefly chatted (5-ish minutes) and he told me to come back with my resume and speak to the chair of the program.
Two weeks later, I was offered a position as an adjunct professor.
Normally, you need a masters degree to teach at the community college level.
Normally, you need a business degree (I have a non-profit leadership and management degree and a lot of experience building businesses) to teach any kind of business classes.
Normally, the hiring process is extremely long and drawn out.
And yet, there I was with the exact thing I had declared I wanted a few weeks before.
This is why when people try to tell me about “rules,” I smile and remind them that rules are merely suggestions.
The most interesting thing about when the friendly voice on my voicemail called me “professor,” is that even though this entire encounter was so easy, exactly what I wanted and perfectly timed, I still heard my mind try to tell me “but it doesn’t count.
It doesn’t count because it was easy, Terra.
It was easy to declare it.
It was easy to pick up the phone.
It was easy to take the meeting.
It was easy to allow the meeting to lead into exactly what you wanted to create.
It was all.so.damn.easy to manifest this incredible thing you wanted.
Easy means you didn’t put enough hustle in, you didn’t put enough time in and… YOU DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH PAIN around the topic.
I smiled, yet again, and thanked my mind for the feedback and reminded it “the easier it is, the MORE valuable it is AND the more energy I will have to actually partake in desired manifestation.”
Many of us, especially as leaders and world changers, are raised to believe EVERYTHING has to be a fight. We have to work insanely hard to prove our worth. And? It has to hurt, a lot, in order for it to be worth it. In order for us to wear a badge of honor.
Think about it… how many people praise not sleeping enough, staying up too late, working overtime, busting their butts to get further faster, share how much more pain they are in because of X, Y, Z reasons…and on and on.
Darling, please let hustle marry flow and sweep you up into all of the things you are attempting to create with your life. It will happen, as if by magic.
I do not have special powers. Well, I do. AND so do you.
Tune in to yourself and ask “what do I really want next?”
Allow the answer to come to you and write it down.
Then, ask “what’s the next step for me to take in getting the result I want?”
Take that step.
Let everything else flow.
Once you declare that you want something and it is in total alignment with you, it’s yours baby. NO.MATTER.WHAT.
Just don’t throw nasty roadblocks in there like “I can’t really have that. I can’t really do that. I don’t really deserve that.”
All in.
Hand in hand, back to back, together we rise.
